Lusso – The Journey So Far.
Lusso was created with women at its heart. As an independent womenswear
boutique based in Forfar. We offer a curated selection of unique pieces that
provide style and individuality. Lusso really is the place to shop.
How it all started ……. Many years ago, when my daughter was about to start
school, I had asked my then employer if I could possibly do school working hours as my partner worked away – to which they declined. I had then looked for any job that would tick the school working hours box and found a job working in a sandwich shop at the end of my road in Forfar which was conveniently round the corner from my daughter’s school.
When I had my interview, I had on my makeup (to make a good impression) but
whilst working at the job I decided that doing makeup at 5:30am every day to make
sandwiches wasn’t for me but the boss wasn’t too happy about this and decided to
let me go! (thank you!).
From then on, I had decided that there was no job security and took it upon myself to be self-sufficient! I started doing stalls here and there, with my offerings and when doing one of my stalls I met a lady, and we joked about getting a little shop
together… the joke turned into reality! After a year or so she decided to take
another full-time job as her venture wasn’t meeting her goals and I figured I was
making enough money to go it alone!
After a year or so, i then moved into a bigger shop in the heart of Dundee but the
shop was far too big for me alone, sky high rent and council rates (ouch) and the
area wasn’t very well known for shopping at that time. I decided to give up that shop and move closer to home as whilst running the other shops I had to commute daily -not ideal! I moved my business to Forfar and had a slight change of direction to a more luxurious brand. There was a real gap in the market in Forfar and I decided to take the scary leap! And here I am now; driven to succeed by seeing our customers confidence levels transform before our very eyes. Our core values are quality, style and authenticity.
